We promote the welfare and development of each child within our care in partnership with their parents / guardians and other relevant professionals.
It is our aim to include all children in our care and to meet their individual needs.
We aim to promote an inclusive environment where all children, whatever their needs, can learn and develop in a happy, caring and educational environment.
We aim to adapt our routine, activities and environment to allow all children to participate and reach their full potential.
Bright Start Childcare works closely with parents to build a positive partnership in all aspects of work for children with SEND.
We recognise the value of all children and are committed to enabling each one to reach their full potential in all aspects of care and development;
Children with special needs/disabilities, like all other children, are welcome into our setting after consultation between parents and ourselves.
Our system of observation and record-keeping enables us to monitor children's needs and progress on an individual basis.
The child’s progress and achievements are shared with parents on a daily basis.
We aim to provide additional resources for children with SEND. If necessary then reasonable adjustments will be made to equipment/room lay out/activities etc.
We will work in liaison with parents, relevant professionals and agencies outside our setting to meet children’s specific needs.
We attend relevant training on specific areas when needed.
At Bright Start we have a designated member of staff (SENCO) who has a special responsibility for the day to day operation of the SEND policy.
Parents who wish to complain about SEND are invited first to speak to ourselves. If the parent feels the matter has still not been resolved, the parent may contact OFSTED, the body responsible for registration and inspection.
Through detailed planning and organisation of resources we aim to make all activities available to all children throughout the setting at a level appropriate to their developmental needs.
We work in partnership with parents / guardians to offer continuity of care.
